Drone Testing Zone
Drone Testing Zone
Malaysia’s first Drone Testing Zone (DTZ), established on 1st July 2019 during the MyDroneX event, located in Cyberjaya. The DTZ aims to serve as a platform for drone players to test their drone innovations in a safe and controlled environment, which will help spur the drone industry as a whole in the long run. One of the most notable drone testing undertaken here was a drone food delivery by a local company during the MyDroneX event in 2019. In August 2020, Poladrone announced its launch of its Oryctes drone, the world’s first spot precision spraying drone for oil palm, which advances Poladrone to be a serious player in the agriculture drone market. A more recent one in March 2021 where AirAsia Group via its logistics arm, Teleport, demonstrated its urban drone delivery services.
Another DTZ, which is a Drone & Robotics Zone Iskandar (DRZ) will soon be open in Johor, this is part of our collaboration with IIB Ventures Sdn Bhd to establish a new infrastructure in the southern state. The establishment of this infrastructure is to attract foreign companies in Singapore to test their innovations and to also create new businesses in the Iskandar region.
